Our classes meet once a week for 45 minutes. Each 10 week session features a different collection with new songs, chants and rhythm rymes. The research based Music Together® curriculum is designed to meet the needs of a broad range of ages and abilities. Each child participates at his or her own level, singing, moving, chanting, listening, watching, or exploring musical instruments. The activities are presented in an informal and relaxed atmosphere that helps everyone to learn. Non-performance oriented and developmentally appropriated for young children, our classes are designed to help children to develop their basic music competence. Grownups learn ways to share fun music activities with their children at home as well as in class regardeless of their own musical experience.
Mixed Age Class (birth – 5 years)
This is the essencial Music Together class, one that a child can attend from birth through age 5 - and through all 9 collections. This basic class follows the recommendations of child development researchers—grouping children of a variety of ages because this fosters natural, family-style learning. Younger children enjoy watching and imitating older ones; older children learn by leading younger ones; and adults are happy because the children in the family can go to class together. The whole family is welcome for this important
family music experience. Any caregivers—parents, grandparents, or baby sitters—can bring the children.
Baby Class (birth – 8 months)
Is my baby too young to music class? A child is never too young to hear and respond to
music or language. In fact, we know that babies have already been listening and responding to music, language, and other sounds for as much as half f their lives before birth. The Music Together Baby program has been specially designed to introduce babies from birth through eight months and their parents and other caregivers to the Music Together experience. The music activities have been carefully chosen and the Music Together Babies Song Collection in its entirety represents a balanced and rich vocabulary of music and movement for the baby's development and for the whole family to enjoy. In addition, parents and caregivers can learn important information about how children develop musically. BABY CLASS VIDEO
